A blog? 2026? Really?

Helloo! Glad you're taking the time to browse around my blog a little. This blog is mainly about everything to do with "audio", but also about the areas that connect to it directly or have something to do with the work of an audio engineer.

Of course, the first question that comes up is: "A blog? In 2026? Really?" Yes, really! For one, I don't have much time to prepare, film and then edit videos for YouTube or Instagram. For another, I like the slowness that comes with a blog. I can work on a post over several days or weeks and really think about what I want to say, and I learn a fair bit about my own process along the way. On top of that, I always wanted to start writing, and I figured now is actually a good time. In this blog I want to share my interests with you as well as ask open questions about topics that are on my mind right now.

Topics and content

As hinted above, it'll be about "audio", so "recording", "mixing", "mastering", "workflow" in general, "plugins" and so on. But topics like "artificial intelligence" or "psychology" are relevant for every audio engineer today too, so I want to write a bit about those as well and share my findings, or my questions, with you. What I'll cover less or not at all are topics around "publishing", "label work" or "release strategy". On those I simply lack the competence to write about them with any real depth.

How a post comes together

Since I don't have that much writing experience yet and want to start somewhere, I'll take the topics that are on my mind and work them into posts bit by bit. Every post is written by me and checked by an AI for grammar and sentence structure. I don't want to use AI for the content of this blog, because the content is my personal interest and not a decision made by an AI. But above all because I'm a firm believer in the idea "if I don't want to write it myself, why should anyone else want to read it". By the way, all the other texts on my website are self-written too, and the website itself was programmed with AI. If a post needs deeper research, an AI will probably come into play, and I'll of course check the sources.

About me

Now that I've written a few general words about the blog, I want to share a few thoughts about myself in this section, so you can get to know me a little and put the thoughts and statements in this blog into context. The following list is incomplete and in no particular order:

• I still love listening to whole albums front to back, and even though I think vinyl is great for the slowed-down listening experience and the feel of it, I'm not necessarily a fan of the sound and the limitations that come with the format.
• I'd say I approach making music very idealistically, and I value art in general a lot.
• I really like people and exchanging ideas with people, and I try to stay open to new things.
• Sometimes I'm a little anxious, and then it takes me quite a while to get started with new things (like writing this blog or releasing my plugins), but once I'm in it, things actually move along pretty well.
• I love independent projects!
• I mix because it was always my dream to mix music, and when I can help people make their dream come true within the music world, or accompany them a little on the way, it makes me proud and happy.

So much for a start. Over the coming weeks more posts will follow, bit by bit, then also on specific topics or with specific questions. After this first post, in the next one I want to get into my own plugins: why I built my own plugins, how I went about it and what my goal for them is.
